Clear Up!

Clear Up

After the Christmas and new year celebrations, we are soon back into the usual daily run of things. January starts with the clear-up after Christmas time, with decorations packed away and the general tidying up being done with the holiday soon forgotten. There are the dark evenings of winter, often gloomy days, rain, cold, ice and snow and it can seem quite depressing, particularly if the boiler packs up, the car won’t start and the pavements are all icy when you need to go out! Don’t you feel sometimes that everything for you seems against you!

Well, I got to thinking, and realised, that although Christmas is over and everything seems downhill, the message of peace and love is actually still there. You see, God doesn’t pack up everything, cease His love and care for us until next Christmas and then say, “Here I am again, Happy Christmas”. Aren’t we just blessed that when we look into His Word, we can see a loving, joyful God whose love is mind-blowing. A verse that tell us of God’s unconditional love is, “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet My unfailing love for you will not be shaken, nor my covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord who has compassion on you”. (Isaiah 54:10)

I rather like how the verse ends, “ ……… says the Lord who has compassion on you”. He cares for you, He cares for me, He’s interested in every day that you are gifted and more than that He doesn’t wait until next Christmas to show His love for you. As I was writing this ‘thought’ I came across this verse from Zephaniah 3:17, “The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love” and get this, the verse finishes with, “He will rejoice over you with singing”.

Doesn’t that just have to be a ‘WOW’, Father God singing to you! Now, go ahead and enjoy your week.
