rest

It is with thanks to God that my family and I are going to get away over the half term week. We have been blessed with a gift of a short break in Yorkshire, and we are really looking forward to the time to just do nothing! Rest is often overlooked in it’s importance. The need to rest and recharge was part of God’s plan from the very beginning when on the seventh day HE rested. Was he tired? I doubt it. Was he weary? again I doubt it. He was showing us the way he intended us to get the most out of life, he wanted us to have life to the full.
This is why Jesus said in Matthew 11:28 “Come to me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
What ever you are doing in the half term week, I pray that you rest in Christ and enjoy life to the full, and don’t feel guilty if that means putting your feet up for a cuppa for five mins! Other jobs can wait a while because time in rest is God’s perfect plan.
Love
Paul.

Harvest

Please come and join us for our harvest service on the 6th October when we will be focusing on the BMS hungry appeal. This year the particular focus is on the needs in Uganda for people to have land to grow their own food.

We are blessed in our local area with rich and bountiful fields of produce, our service is a chance to come together and give thanks to God for such blessings, and also to pray for others less fortunate than us.

There are times when I am in a hurry to get ‘across country’ when I come up behind a slow moving tractor. I am sure we have all experienced the ‘joy’ of this. Maybe next time it happens God may remind me of the blessing before me.

Hope you can join us.

blessings

Paul
